At Blaine’s Sewing Machine Center, we believe that every stitch tells a story.
For over 70 years, our family-owned business has been threading together the fabric of our community with quality sewing machines, top-notch customer service, expert repairs, and classes that encourage a passion for creativity.
Our History
Originally located in The Outlet department store in Providence Rhode Island, Blaine’s Sewing Machine Center was founded on a singular mission: to provide the best sewing machines and expertise to our local community.
After The Outlet ceased operations in the early ‘80s, Blaine’s opened an independent shop. As the business grew, Blaine’s expanded to its current location at 1280 Oaklawn Ave in Cranston, Rhode Island.
In 2005, longtime Blaine’s manager Karen Roy and her husband Bob, a service technician at the shop, became the owners of the business.
What started as a small family venture in a major department store has blossomed into a beloved independent institution, cherished by generations of sewing enthusiasts.
