Charity Sewing Event: Scent Hearts for NICU Families
Hosted by Blaine’s in support of Project Sweet Peas
Join us for a heartwarming day of sewing and giving back! In this special charity sewing event, we’ll be creating scent hearts—small fabric hearts made from 100% cotton flannel—that provide comfort and connection for families with babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
These hearts are given in pairs to NICU parents, who wear them close to their skin so the fabric can absorb their natural scent. The hearts are then placed in the baby’s isolette, offering familiar comfort and promoting bonding—even when parents can’t be at the bedside.
All scent hearts sewn during this event will be donated to Project Sweet Peas, a nonprofit organization that supports NICU and bereaved families nationwide.
Whether you’re an experienced sewer or a beginner looking to support a meaningful cause, we welcome you to join us! All materials will be provided, and guidance will be available throughout the session.
Let’s stitch love and comfort into every heart we make.
